Assignment 1:Listen to the highest quality versions of The Beatles album Revolver and the Beach Boys Pet Sounds through headphones. Write a blog entry where you compare and contrast the production techniques. As you listen, try to imagine how these records (and the sounds they contain) were recorded in 1966. Research the production methods and also make mention in your blogs. Two or three paragraphs in length is adequate.

Assignment 2: JPEGMafia Playlist
Listen to all of the tracks on the playlist (~ 2.5 hours runtime). If you don’t have Tidal, look them up on your own streaming music service. Listen to as high quality version as possible. Write a blog entry where you choose 3 tracks, discuss their sonic elements, production techniques and their overall impact. Take careful notice of the use of nonmusical elements and noise in these tracks. Research the production methods (if you can find them) and also make mention in your blogs. Three paragraphs in length. (Note: This set of music contains explicit/offensive language)

Assignment 3: Writing Assignment on Sound Designer/Editor
View one of the films below and write a 500 word blog post detailing the sound design for the film. Consider all aspects of the soundtrack including the diegetic sound, dialog, audio effects, musical score. Research the audio projection team for the film and relay any information you can find about the techniques they used.
Please use three (3) specific examples from the film to illustrate your points. In each case, discuss the place in the narrative of the film, the general effect of the sound design and why you choose to discuss each.
